Working meeting with the delegation of the Green Climate Fund

DFITD Festim Halili, together with the Vice-President of the Government in charge of economic affairs, Mr. Fatmir Bytyqi, and the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Ms. Kaya Shukova, today held a working meeting with the delegation of the Green Climate Fund, led by Ms. Nonhlanhla Zindela. deputy director of the country programs department.

The working meeting was held within the Regional Program Dialogue of the Green Climate Fund for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, which is being held in Skopje from March 18 to 22, 2024.

The successful cooperation between North Macedonia and the Green Climate Fund was confirmed at the meeting, with 5 approved projects and 4 programs for preparedness and support. The commitment of the Fund for Innovation and Technology Development to be accredited in the GCF was highlighted as the first institution in the country that, as an accredited national body, will have direct access to the Fund’s financial instruments and will be a bridge to them for domestic enterprises and their green projects and ideas with which, together as a state, we will contribute to facing the challenges of climate change and achieving the goals for sustainable development.
