The project "m.Health" is the winner of the Hackathon "E-Health" organized by FITD and ROSH Macedonia

The project “m.Health” offered the most innovative and creative solution for better management of the health system, within the first hackathon “E-Health”, which took place last weekend, organized by the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development, ROSH Macedonia and in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. During the hackathon, 11 project teams under the mentorship of top health experts worked to develop a digital solution that will contribute to a better health system in the country.


“On behalf of the team of “m.Health” I would like to thank the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development and ROSH Macedonia, for the initiative to maintain the first e-hackathon for health in our country. We had a really hard, but very productive 48 hours filled with intensive work with the members of my team, Sofija Hristova and Dragan Sokolovski. The e-hackathon itself had many good ideas and I would also like to encourage all other teams to continue working to develop e-health solutions” said Kiril Soleski, team leader of the winning m.Health project.

Soleski believes that the project “m.Health” stands out with its comprehensiveness, because it is a smart, innovative platform that aims to integrate and improve health services in our system, which will provide greater efficiency and access to health services, improved monitoring of patients, developing healthy habits and increased awareness are just some of the benefits that this digital solution offers.


“All project teams offered excellent solutions and showed that the digitalization of healthcare processes is a real need in order to have modern and quality healthcare. Hackathons are a great opportunity to encourage innovation and that is why I hope that such collaborations will encourage other companies in the corporate sector to get involved and launch similar initiatives in the future, which will jointly contribute to the digitalization not only of the health system but also of the public sector and beyond” said Ivana Stankovic, an advisor at the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development and part of the hackathon’s organizing team.


The winning project “m.Health” receives financial support in the amount of 30 thousand euros for the implementation of the solution which will be fully and free of charge available to all citizens during the next year.

“I thank all the participants for their hard work over the weekend in developing modern technological innovations, and I believe the winning solution will be of great benefit to the health sector, the Ministry of Health and My Term. I thank FITD and the Ministry of Health for the overall support in creating this first, but not the last hackathon dedicated to the promotion of one of the most important pillars in every country – public health. In the next period, we continue to invest and develop innovative platforms, because technological innovations in the health sector for better functioning, “said Aleksandra Ivanovska, director of ROSH Macedonia.


The public call “E-Health” of FITD and Roche Macedonia, was opened from 02 – 17.06.2021, where in addition to companies, individuals organized in project teams had the opportunity to apply. Based on the submitted project proposals, the Evaluation and Selection Commission made a pre-selection of the applicants who passed to the next phase, which is a 48-hour Hackathon “E-Health”. During the hackathon, eleven project teams were part of several mentoring sessions led by: FITD, ROSH Macedonia and the eHealth Office, which helped participants crystallize their ideas and direct them towards creating a prototype or demo version of the solution. In the final part, the project teams presented their solutions to the Evaluation and Selection Committee, which based on pre-defined criteria made the final decision for selection of the most innovative e-solution in the field of health.
