Fitd on a consultation meeting with the foreign donors for the annual program
For the first time, the team of the Fund for Innovations and Technology Development held a consultative meeting with foreign donors, for the planned activities in the new annual program of the Fund, planned for 2022.
Taking into account the performance of North Macedonia in terms of the Global Innovation Index and the European Innovation Ranking, as well as based on the findings and recommendations of the OECD related to public competition policies, innovation and support for the development of micro, small and medium enterprises, FITD created a new approach to support innovation for next year.
In front of the representatives of the World Bank, EU Delegation, Embassy of Switzerland, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) – North Macedonia, EU4Growth project, USAID, Macedonia2025, EBRD BAS, EBRD Advice for Small Businesses, Swiss EP – Swiss Market Employability Program (IME), AmCham Northern Macedonia and U.S. Embassy in North Macedonia, presented the five key pillars that will be the focus of the Fund in 2022.
Within the frames of “Venture Capital” in North Macedonia, the Fund for next year in its program envisages a hybrid Investment Fund of 27 million euros, in which the state will invest 10 million euros, a new investment approach for accelerators with a focus on investment readiness for startups and a public call for commercialization of innovations with a new approach to attracting private sector investment.
In front of the donors were also presented the activities related to direct financing, which include a public call for technological development, technological extension that will strengthen the support of chambers or innovation clusters, public call for startups, collaborative grants, innovation vouchers, digital innovation vouchers and a Corporate Innovation Program.
The FITD representatives also discussed with the participants the planned thematic investments in agrotechnology through a public call for commercialization of agricultural technology, social entrepreneurship – business impact startups and deep tech startups through a public call for startups and a separate fund for digitalization in the public sector.
For the next year, the Fund in its program envisages investments in new fields of green technology, fintech and technologies in healthcare.
The fifth pillar, on which FITD will continue to work in 2022, will include investments in innovation infrastructure, digital innovation hubs, new FabLabs laboratories, accelerators, new mentoring programs, and support for young people through the programs UPSHIFT, Junior Achievement and the public call “Challenge for Young Researchers”.
Пред донаторите беа претставени и активностите поврзани со директно финансирање кои опфаќаат јавен повик за технолошки развој, технолошка екстензија со која ќе се зајакне поддршката на коморите односно иновациските кластери, јавен повик за стартап компании, колаборативни грантови, иновациски ваучери, ваучери за дигитални иновации како и Програма за корпоративни иновации.
Претставниците на ФИТР со присутните дискутираа и за планираните тематски инвестиции во агритехнологија преку јавен повик за комерцијализација на земјоделската технологија, социјално претприемништво- бизнис импакт стартапи и диптек стартапи преку јавен повик за стартапи и засебен фонд за дигитализација во јавниот сектор.
Фондот за наредната година во својата програма предвидува и инвестиции во нови полиња од областа на: зелена технологија, финтек и технологии во здравството.
Петтиот столб на кој ќе продолжи да работи ФИТР и во 2022 година, ќе подразбира инвестиции во иновациска инфраструктура, дигитални иновациски хабови, нови ФабЛабс лабаратории, акцелератори, нови менторски програми, и поддршка за младите преку програмите Апшифт, Џуниор ачивмент и јавниот повик „Предизвик за млади истражувачи“.
