The cooperation between FITD and the Chamber of Commerce of North Macedonia is strengthening

The Director of the Fund for Innovation and Technology Development, Festim Halili, had a working meeting with the President of the Chamber of Commerce of North Macedonia, Branko Azeski. The topic of the working meeting was the initiative for activities that lead to encouraging innovation and competitiveness of companies.

At the meeting, the Director of FITD Festim Halili highlighted the Fund’s activities through which support is offered to companies, through financing the best and sustainable business ideas and projects, as well as the fact that FITD will be the first accredited institution to the Green Climate Fund from the Western Balkans.

– Through the Green Climate Fund, financial resources will be provided to strengthen the engagement of the private sector in climate action for the realization of priorities according to the Paris Agreement, the Goals for sustainable development and the realization of climate obligations within the framework of the pre-accession process of the European Union. – emphasized Halili at the meeting.

During the meeting, the previous cooperation between the two institutions was also greeted, as evidenced by the successfully implemented project “Increasing the export competitiveness of the metalworking, electrical and mechanical sectors, by improving the production and technological capabilities of export-oriented SMEs”, through which they were procured 23 machines and additional equipment for 4 companies in direct financial support in the form of a grant from the Fund for Innovation and Technology Development with support from the World Bank, worth half a million euros.

Both parties agreed on communication on a daily basis with which the companies will be promptly informed about all active public calls, in order to further affirm the instruments that enable the growth and development of the companies.
