Macedonia will become a new attractive destination for digital nomads

How Northern Macedonia will become an attractive destination through the Digital Nomadism Development Program was the topic discussed by: Kosta Petrov, Director of the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development, Sebastian Diaz Mesa, former CEO of Start-Up Chile, Samanta Mikite, digital nomad from Canada and Nina Nikolic co-founder of Startup Macedonia.

The conclusion from the exchange of experiences of the interactive webinar "Why digital nomads and startup founders should come to S. Macedonia "is that in the era of digital economy that provides greater freedom in the way of working, the country has great potential to attract experts from around the world. In addition, the covid crisis contributes to increasing the rate of remotely employed employees, and thus increases awareness of the opportunities and benefits that these people offer.

"I am especially proud that R. Northern Macedonia is joining the few countries that will attract digital nomads. With the stimulus that our country gives for their development, we will create European standards and conditions for foreign entrepreneurs to work and live in the country. "Now is the era of digital nomads, which will bring huge benefits to the local economy as well as a chance for cooperation and networking with Macedonian startups," explained the director of FITD Kosta Petrov.

Samantha Mikit, a digital nomad from Canada who has worked in the country in the past, said she was fascinated by the potential for developing and attracting digital nomads. Through her experience, she emphasized the benefits that digital nomads have by deciding to work in our country.

Sebastian Diaz Mesa, a former CEO of Start-Up Chile, believes that putting talent at the center is what allows the ecosystem to grow. As he said, Chile proved that, 10 years ago when Start-Up Chile was created as the best entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.
