The Fund for Innovation and Technological Development and the Chamber of Commerce for Information and Communication Technologies (MASIT) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with aim to have a greater implementation of innovative and technological solutions in the ICT sector and accelerated development of the ICT economy.
The mutual cooperation will include development of free entrepreneurship and encouragement of competition in the ICT sector, coordination of researches, development of technical-technological achievements as well as organization of professional training, retraining and additional qualification of professional staff.
"MASIT are our long-term partners and I believe that with the new activities we will mostly help young and talented IT engineers to whom we will provide better conditions to develop their ideas and services in our country and be globally competitive. The ICT industry as one of the fastest growing industry is a key driver for economic development and is an important source of innovation. This is proved by the fact that the largest percentage of projects supported by FITD are in the field of this industry, more precisely 30% (160) are ICT companies. With financial support from FITD on the one hand and MASIT as the best promoter of their interests on the other hand, I am convinced that we will contribute to a more dynamic and sustainable ICT sector", said Kosta Petrov, acting director of the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development.
Additionally, the planned activities will have a positive contribution to the long-term growth of the national economy, knowledge transfer and employment increase.
"For MASIT, this Memorandum is an officialization of the successful cooperation with FITD so far, as well as an opportunity for its deepening. In the forthcoming period, we expect to jointly contribute significantly to encouraging innovation and technological development in the field of ICT sector and to support the processes of digital transformation, as well as economic development in general", said Aneta Antova Pesheva, President of Management Board of MASIT.
