Deputy Prime Minister Bytyqi and DFITD Petrov at a meeting with Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Foreer - Application of modern technologies and digital tools brings greater productivity and competitiveness

The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Economic Affairs, Coordination of Economic Departments and Investments, Fatmir Bytyqi and the Director of the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development Kosta Petrov, during their working visit to Israel, met with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Oed Forer, with whom they discussed the deepening of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Bytyqi congratulated the formation of the new Government of Israel and wished Minister Forrer success in his new position, emphasizing that he hopes that the economic cooperation between the two countries will deepen.

He stressed that there is great potential for increasing mutual trade in several sectors and expressed expectation of assistance from Israel in transferring experience and knowledge on the application of new and modern technologies for agricultural development, which was highlighted as one of the sectors in which cooperation can be intensified.

Deputy Prime Minister Bytyqi, Minister Forrer and Director Petrov agreed at the meeting that the application of new technologies and digital tools, in agriculture, but also in other sectors, can bring higher productivity, competitiveness and value creation, which could be an impuls for increasing the mutual exchange.

During the first day of his working visit to Israel, Deputy Prime Minister Bytyqi and Director Petrov met with representatives of the AtoBe Accelerator – which is part of the Azrieli College of Engineering in Jerusalem and is considered one of the best centers for research and development, where they exchanged experiences for the establishment of the same center in the Republic of Northern Macedonia, which would be additional support for innovative start-up companies.
